How do I best use my Philips hair clipper?
Your Philips hair clipper should give you great results, every time. There are, however, tips and tricks to help you on your way. Just follow these simple steps.
Before you start:
Pre-cut your hair with a pair of scissors if your hair is long. Or, if available, with a comb attachment for longer hair lengths.
Make sure that your hair is clean and dry.
Don't use your clipper on wet hair or if you have applied any kind of styling gel to it.
Comb your hair in the direction of hair growth.
Check that the comb is fixed properly on the hair clipper and that you have chosen the right length setting.
Carefully determine where you want your hairline to be before contouring,
Start clipping at the back of the head and move on to the upper part of the head. Then clip the sides. Clip the top of the head from the front to the back.
Do not press the clipper too hard on your skin.
Move the clipper slowly against the direction of hair growth with the teeth of the comb pointing upwards.
Make sure that the flat part of the comb is always fully in contact with the scalp.
Contour the neckline and the hair around the ears without the comb attached.
Hair on different parts of your head grow in different directions, so change your clipping direction accordingly to make sure that all hair is cut to the same length. Move upwards, downwards and from left to right, especially when cutting cowlicks. Move the clipper along the curls when the hair is growing in curls.
Remove cut hair from the comb as well as from your head regularly.
Comb the hair frequently during clipping to make sure that the cut hair is removed and that the hair lies in the right position. This enables you to easily detect unevenly cut areas, and makes clipping easier and faster.
If you want to clip your hair for a certain occasion, we advise you to clip your hair about a day earlier. This will ensure that your hair will look its best at this occasion.
