While your beard grows in, you can trim any unwanted hair away. This means trimming your beard neckline —no one wants scraggly neck beard hair. This is not only good practice for when your beard grows, it also helps enhance the look of the hair that’s already there by creating contrast. Regularly comb your beard to stimulate the hair follicles and draw the natural oils produced by your skin down the length of the hair. Step 3: Keep the beard looking good
After many weeks, your beard should be on its way; that means it’s time to start tidying it up. It might feel counter-productive to cut any beard hair you have, but you’ll want to give it a bit of a trim. Most beard and moustache hair grow at different rates, so an electric trimmer will help keep it uniform. Clean and moisturise your facial skin for healthy hair growth.

Step 4: Define the type of beard style and shape
By now, your beard should be coming in nicely, but you’re not done yet - it’s time to define the beard. It’s common for a few hairs to grow on your cheeks—a little higher than your beard really should sit. Follow our guide on trimming your beard cheek line to keep that area clean. The same goes for any stray neck hairs, ensure to tidy up below the Adam’s apple.

Shaving is a hot bathroom or during the heat of the day can make razor burn worse. Try shaving in the evening to give irritable skin a chance to recover overnight.

Step 5: Personalise the style and shape of your beard
Finally, you have a beard! It might have taken longer than you thought, or maybe it grew easily. Now it’s time to decide what shape you want and to always keep up beard care maintenance. Try different styling methods until you find your favourite. Check out our guides on how to trim a anchor beard or balbo beard for some inspiration. Maybe you like putting some moustache wax in there for a dynamic shape, maybe you have some patchiness and you want to let it grow out longer to cover that.
