Harnessing the power of nature, all Philips RO system in Australia are supported with Aquaporin Inside™, a technology developed by Aquaporin A/S (Denmark).
Based on the award-winning discovery of aquaporin proteins, Aquaporin A/S (Denmark) developed aquaporin filtration technology. Tested with NASA and ESA for aerospace applications, it helps ensure astronauts have safe drinking water, demonstrating innovation and durability.
The biomimetic RO membrane incorporates aquaporin proteins to replicate natures own water filtration process and filters water faster and better than ever before. The filter can effectively remove harmful substances down to 0.0001 micron.
After billions of years of evolution, aquaporin proteins have become highly selective water channels, providing stable, high-performance filtration. This ensures consistently purified water throughout the lifetime of the filter.
Experience the luxury of purified water, perfectly chilled to 5°C on demand, equipped with the powerful compressor and ultra-cold-preservation technology that ensures a consistent ice-cold refreshment for up to 3 hours.¹
Most household systems use microfiltration (0.1–5 microns). While effective for sediments and many microbes, it may not remove smaller dissolved contaminants like some viruses, pesticides, and heavy metals. Reverse osmosis uses ~0.0001 micron membranes to reduce a much broader range of contaminants.
Philips RO systems use biomimetic membranes with aquaporin proteins — natural water channels that enable highly selective filtration. This nature-inspired design delivers fast water flow while maintaining high filtration performance for reliable, purified water.
RO systems use multi-stage filtration to optimise performance and protect the membrane. Pre-filters reduce sediment, chlorine, and organics; the RO membrane removes fine contaminants; post-filters refine taste and odour. Some systems add minerals and help balance pH.
UV-C LED technology activates automatically every hour within the chilled water chamber, helping to inhibit bacterial growth in freshly filtered water by up to 99.9%².
Most of our RO systems track Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels before and after filtration, providing clear visual feedback through a display or indicator lights when attention is required.³
Ice cubes made from purified and remineralised water, delivering clarity and freshness for all your drinks.
With every filtration, we rethink how materials are used. By optimising product design, extending the lifespan of filters and appliances, and reducing unnecessary single-use plastics in packaging, we aim to minimise environmental impact. Because better water should not come at the expense of the environment.
