Fantastic for fine hairsI recently purchased the Philips Satinelle Advanced epilator because I had to replace my previous Philips epilator that broke (my bad). I expected to purchase the same unit that I previously owned when I spotted the model that marketed itself as being better for fine hair. I figured I would give it a shot and I am thrilled that I did. I couldn't believe how much better this unit was at grabbing the tiny, fine, blonde hairs on my leg that only I can see, but drive me nuts!
I have used this item on my face for the peach fuzz and my underarms as well. It does exactly what I need it to do and I believe it does it faster than the previous unit because I don't have to back over the same spots repeatedly.
My only complaint is that the attachments that I have for my previous unit do not fit this model. I won't replace them, but that sadly just makes them garbage for the landfill. I wish that Philips would make these items more interchangeable.
Otherwise, I am happy to have found the product and would recommend it for anyone with fine hair that struggles with hair removal.

Worst epilator everI have been epilating for a good few years. I thought it was time to upgrade and stupidly threw my old epilator away when I ordered this. The first time I used it it was great, a lot quieter than my previous one, the design was nicer and easier to hold and a lot less painful. However, from then on the epilator would turn off every 10-30 seconds and become very loud. I cleaned it with the brush provided thinking that it was just a little clogged up. That didn’t help at all. Now the ‘blades’ get stuck and and makes the whole process very long and painful! I have tried everything and now am very frustrated as I need to de-hair before my hols and DO NOT want to go back to shaving.

Not an effective productThis epilator, especially for the price it costs, was incredibly ineffective. In order to remove the hair in a specific area you must hover over it/ go back and forth over the spot about 10 times to even notice a difference. It took me an hour to remove the majority of hair on my thigh (it should not take this long). The light on this product also makes it harder to see what your doing - the hair almost reflects off the light, making if difficult to see anything. This has to be the worst hair removal product I've ever tried.

IneffectiveBought this from Myer to replace my old epilator and wish I had done more research before hand.
Doesn’t grab hair easily and I have to continually go over the same spot and even then doesn’t do an effective job.
Will have to buy a new one while this one just sits in my cupboard after only a few uses which is disappointing.
Waste of money and you’re better off spending a bit more to get something that actually performs the desired end result well.

nice producti bought it becouse of the technical specifications even if i read some negative comments about it.
It is a very nice product - the design is great, it is not very noisy.
it does a good job regarding the price (quite cheap compared to some similar ones from other brands)
it should be used exactly as the manufacturer's specifications say at a 90-degree angle

Easy epilationI've been using this for a couple of weeks now and really like it so far. I use mine wet and on the slow setting and found that the pain was no where near the previous epilator I'd tried!
You do have to go relatively slowly to ensure that you pick up all the hairs and you won't get perfectly smooth legs on the first attempt because hair grows at different rates but give it a week or so and you'll see a difference.
I can already epilate less frequently than before which is great! Also epilating wet legs has helped with sensitivity and any redness disappears quickly.

Product is fairI was provided with this epilator at no cost to give an honest review. I have mixed feelings about this item. The epilator comes nicely packaged with its' own carry bag. The shape and weight of the epilator is excellent. It only comes with one size head which limits the area of the body that it can be used on. The head was much too large to do the armpit or face area. It accommodates the legs nicely. It has two speeds which may be a bonus for some, however, I found it worked better on high. The pain was minimal as far as epilator pain goes. I had no redness or swelling as a result. It does remove hair, although I found that as it grabbed some hairs, it caused them to break instead of be removed. This seemed to occur with the finer hairs. As a result, I had to epilate more often. It did work better on short hair. It works the same wet or dry. I did like that the corded base worked well as a charging system. It was nice to not have a cord attached to the unit itself. It charged quickly and it held its' charge for a long period of time. The unit and base are small and store nicely on the counter. I would rate this product as fair. It can be used quickly and isn't an ordeal to use. Cleanup was easy with the enclosed cleaning brush.
