Another day, another of Philips' seemingly endless run of LCD TVs. The 37PF9631D is one of the brand's higher-end TVs - which is apparent from its looks, which combine exceptionally heavy duty build quality with real designer panache

    • Responsive and detailed picture, Decent sound
    • Slightly limited colour range, Some lack of detail from dark images

Conclusion : By no means perfect but the pros certainly outweigh the cons...

Feature-wise, this plasma has everything but the kitchen sink crammed in, but there are minor performance foibles. It's just oozing with the sort of tricks and treats that have become Philips' trademarks in recent years

    • Outstanding connections, Sharp sound
    • Pixel Plus 2 HD sometimes makes colours too bright, Some fizzing on skin tones

Conclusion : Phillips puts in an impressive, if sometimes fizzy, performance...

It's not the young and sprightly 42in LCD it was but this Philips is still a tempting proposition, particularly with its new bargain price tag

    • Excellent picture for the price. Plenty of features. Easy set-up and use
    • Colour balance a little pallid. Pictures can suffer from noise

A 50in Plasma from Philips for under two grand! Is it too good to be true?

Conclusion : Ultimately the 50PF9631D’s picture flaws suggest that Philips’ core plasma panel technology is perhaps not quite as up to partnering Pixel Plus technology as the company's LCD technology. But the overall image quality is still solid, and a huge feature......

The Philips 32PF9631D is a 32in LCD TV with a native resolution of 1366x768. We tested the unit's standard definition and high definition playback and...

    • Excellent high definition performance, reasonable DVD playback, attractive design, Ambilight and Pixel Plus features
    • Overly complex connection options, some minor noise in our HD and SD tests

Conclusion : If you're in the market for a good all-round unit, the Philips 32PF9531/79 will fit the bill nicely....

A bit old now, but in its day a quality TV, with a picture performance that has been a contender in the 42in plasma market
