The suction power of my bagged Philips vacuum has decreased

    Published on 2021-07-04

If your bagged Philips vacuum cleaner's suction power has decreased, there might be an easy solution. Discover how to improve its performance here.

The motor protection filter in your Philips vacuum could become clogged over time.

Please clean the motor protection filter (this should be done every time you replace the disposable dust bag or empty the reusable dust bag). The motor protection filter holder is located behind the dust bag. Remove the dust bag holder with the dust bag to get access to the motor protection filter. Take the filter out of the vacuum cleaner and shake the filter over a dustbin to clean it.

Never use your Philips vacuum without the motor protection filter. This could damage the motor and shorten the life of the appliance.

If the exhaust filter is dirty, remove it and replace it with a new exhaust filter. You will find the exhaust filter on the back of the appliance behind a removable grille.

Always replace the dust bag with a new one when it is full. Do not re-use a dust bag, since the pores of the dust bag become clogged, which has a negative effect on the suction power. Suitable dust bag types for all Philips vacuum cleaners are s-bag® dust bags.

Only use Philips disposable dust bags or a Philips reusable dust bag with this appliance. Other dust bags might damage the motor of this appliance. Never reuse a disposable dust bag.

You can find more information in the user manual. If the above solution(s) did not help to solve your problem, please contact Philips Consumer Care.
