contrary to the other reviews I find this iron to fantastic. for me it does get hot enough to remove creases and the steam button isn't easy to switch off as it has to be pushed to change the steam type. not having to constantly change the temperature for different fabrics is brilliant, no more waiting to cool down or heat up depending on the fabric type this works better than my previous Philips iron and I'm glad I made the purchase

I was unsure about purchasing this type of Iron so decided to buy this special purchase one, in case it was rubbish. So glad I did! I love it. I've ironed all types of fabric with no problems,it's Fab! At first I found it used a lot of water on normal setting, so switched to eco setting which slowed the evaporation rate right down, so reducing the reservoir fill ups when doing a lot of ironing. When something is particularly creased I revert to normal setting and go over the garment quickly, then back to eco to finish off. Then its not too damp from the steam setting. Sounds complicated but it's not.

How simple can ironing be perfect for ironing a mixture of clothes no need to wait for the iron to cool down, you could be ironing jeans then switch to a silk scarf and all will be fine. The steam in the iron is great you do not need a great big tank of water for strong steam this is perfect and the iron isnt heavy so its good for people whom have weak hands. i loved this iron and dont want to write anymore as i wish to get on with my ironing ;). P.S would be the perfect christmas present

Warning Man Friendly Iron, yes that is right the Philips PerfectCare Azure GC4912 is the first Iron that my husband has actually used. We have had so many Irons in our home over the years that I was seriously shocked at this breakthrough in our home. Finally, an Iron of superior quality, with amazing looks has attracted my husband into actually using it, and may I add without any complaints ladies and gents. The first thing he said when we received this steam god (I am referring to the Philips Azure not my Husband here) is “LOOK AT THAT IT’S ACE”. Well to back up his relatively amazing observations he set to using the Iron (Being the first to use it). Now if my husband has ever ironed in the past with other models I have generally had to re-iron the clothes or bedding. I like my garments crease free thank you, as I know so many others do. Well he finished his first batch of clothing but just could not stop, seriously asking if I had anything else, I would like him to do. I checked to ensure that his work clothes and the school clothes were acceptable and looking in tiptop condition, I can confirm they were perfect. Why does he love about the product? In a word “Easy”, that is right this Iron makes doing the ironing so easy. I had a steam generator style Iron before and the Phillips perfectcare Azure not only competes with that but also surpasses it with flying colours. No more waiting for the Iron to warm up for 10 minutes, this Iron hardly takes any time at all. The most positive thing about this Iron is you do not have to change the temperature when ironing silk or cotton; I do not have to worry that he will burn a hole in my expensive silk blouse Another thing, which he absolutely loves about this Iron, is the neon light at the front, which flashes. It does serve a purpose but he loves it because it keeps his concentration levels focus on the ironing itself stopping his mind from wondering (Oh and when he has music on in the background, it is like a disco light) seriously he said that. We have been using the iron for a while now and I can truly say it has been a godsend in our household and I will certainly be sticking with this product and Philips products from now on. The Philips perfectcare Azure has a great lightweight feel and makes my own ironing so enjoyable. Unfortunately, I am the type of person who has to stay on top of the ironing not allowing clothes to build up, that’s why I used to spend endless hours every day Ironing (My boys go through tons of clothes a week). The main reason I found is my previous Iron, which I spent a lot of money on, does not come close to this and saved me no time at all; In fact, ironing was a laborious task in the past. Filling the water tank on this iron is so easy and with no leakage and has a 350 ml capacity. When I look for an iron I always look for one with a high wattage and the Philips Azure has a 2400watt and you can even start ironing within a couple of minutes of turning on. Cleaning this iron could not be any simpler; with a double Calc cleaning system keeps your Iron in perfect condition. I would like to thank Philips for their amazing technological breakthrough, you do not even have to turn the dial to the correct settings the Iron detects the fabric you are Ironing at the time be it Silk, Cotton or a balloon (I am not kidding read on). The iron actually can be directly placed onto a balloon surface and the balloon does not go POP! I have tested this and it works honestly! If you were only thinking of purchasing the Philips Azure at this stage, I would seriously stop contemplating and just purchase the Philips PerfectCare Azure GC4912. You will not be disappointed with the Iron’s amazing Style and Power and unique feel. I know everyone has different needs but I can tell I think this product will seriously meet all of them for everyone!

I have been using this iron for a few weeks and can not believe how much quicker and easier it is to tackle the ironing pile. Plug the iron in and wait for the flashing blue light to remain constant and away you go. No more sorting the clothes into 'temperature' piles. Pick up an item of clothing and iron it knowing that the iron will adjust itself to the necessary temperature. Perfect results are achieved on cotton shirts through to delicate silk tops. The tip of the iron ensures that those hard to reach parts on garments are ironed easily and the ionic glide plate really does glide across the clothes. For deep creases then just press the steam boost button and the creases are vanished forever. I really can not stress how fantastic this iron is. Any scepticism you may have concerning the lack of a temperature control will soon be unfounded and you will wonder how you managed before this iron.
