I have been ironing sometimes twice a week for the last 40 years & in that time I have always purchased quality irons , but in the last 12 months I decided to try the Phillips Azur GC4865 . Without a doubt this is by far the best iron I have ever used. No need to iron on both sides as the steam feature makes this happen. First use thaught it was a bit heavy but now used to it & do not notice. Very happy with this product.

Love love this iron. It glides smoothly and takes the pain out of ironing. 2nd time I'm buying this product.

After many brands and some being Philips, we can say that we are really pleased with this iron. The balance in hand makes it very easy to use. The steam is powerful and well directed across the sole plate. A great design.

Works well and no issues at all. This is the second Philips iron we own and its always served us well The only draw back I found was that the indicator on the dial is the same color as the dial and so one would struggle adjusting the settings.

Great iron, lots of steam, easy glide sole plate. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the light to let you know it's heating up goes out when it reaches operating temperature so there's no way visually to check you've switched it off on your way out the door without feeling it. Secondly, as already mentioned by another reviewer, the pointer on the temperature dial is the same colour as the background so it's impossible to see (it's just a raised bump) so I've had to add liquid paper to make it visible. Otherwise it's a pleasure to use.

It's only the 3rd year and the iron has started giving problems. As soon as I turn it on my main fuse trips. I tried plugging it in different switches but same issue. I guess with this price you expect an iron should give you atleast 5 years of life but this one :((( not happy

Irons nicely BUT the temperature control is very loose and easily moved accidentally. I have to be very aware to prevent scorching my clothes. I thought perhaps the iron I'd purchased was faulty so checked with the salesperson and discovered the others in the shop also had loose controls. With other brands two fingers are needed to adjust the temperature control.

Purchased this iron 16 months ago and it has been really good up until now. Steam is great and sole plate made ironing easy - no problem with shot of steam or extra steam button or speed of heating. I got used to the extra weight within a week. However I found the plastic cover for the water tank extremely fiddly to close properly and it become frustrating as it popped open several times during hour long ironing sessions resulting in splashes of water on my clothes. Today it has an electrical problem that prevents it from heating up beyond lukewarm so am very dissappointed - I've never paid this much for an iron and to have it ready for the bin in 16 months compared to 5 to 7 years with other irons is just a waste of money. Has anyone else had a similar problem.
