Azur PerformerSteam iron

Recently bought this iron, it's the best iron I've had, super glide and love the extra steam button. Unfortunately Philips have forgotten that not all us have perfectly positioned sockets and spacious kitchens. So the 2m cord is just not long enough, a 2.5m cord would have been more workable.

Ease of use. Float like a butterfly.stings like a bee.

I've had several Azur irons. They've always been better made and higher specified than the other brands and the rest of the Philips range. My first had a blue internal light, auto-off and a storage stand (which I still use). My current Azur is a few years old, and although functional had started to make hard work of cotton shirts. I bought this as it appeared to be a bargain compared with other retailers. Ordering was easy and it arrived quickly. Initial impressions are that it's attractive and fairly lightweight. It's also easy to fill (no filler provided though) and heats up quickly. It has a decent shot of steam but the steam from the sole-plate is fairly weak. On the negative side why have Philips scrimped so much on the cord? It's around 1.5 feet shorter than the old one and I've had to use it with an extension lead so it will reach the end of my board. Had I paid full price I would have returned it immediately for this alone and it will certainly make me consider other brands next time I buy one

This Iron works very well, it provides nice amount of steam and glides across the clothes, HOWEVER the water level is impossible to see through the plastic as its dark grey/black. I filled it up to start ironing and then cannot tell when it needs topping up, apart from shaking the iron to feel if it has water in it. So the Iron is good but I am sure the water/steam will be causing me problems until I have to get a replacement. Such a shame that a design error has spoilt this otherwise very nice Iron.....

I should have stayed with my previous brand. This one is heavier although easy to use BUT THE STEAM OUTPUT IS NEXT TO USELESS!

Satisfactorily irons clothes; nice pointed head good for the corners of fitted sheets; however utility of the iron is entirely spoiled by the inadequate length of the power cable. As a right handed user trying to iron from a power socket on left hand wall it was impossible to manoeuvre the iron across the board without constantly creasing the area just ironed. Took it back to the shop. Was prepared to swap for another Philips, but all corded are only 2m in length.

The user manual is useless. I have not used the iron yet, and don't normally have to read up on how to use one, but since it has been a couple of years since I bought my present iron I thought it would be prudent to see if there have been any major changes in the way irons have been performing of late. However, in the manual under the heading cleaning and maintenance it said to refer to the fold out at the back of the manual. There is no folder. When going on line, it is not possible to print off the missing pages without printing the whole English section. Very bad design and surprising from a company such as Philips who are hardly new to the exporting of appliances over the world. Lets hope the iron itself is better.

Just bought a new unit in Singapore and it DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!! Out of the box!!!!!! This level of poor quality is unacceptable How can Philips quality standard be so low
