docking station for iPod/iPhone/iPad

After weeks of looking at various docking stations/ alarm clocks we purchased the PhilipsDCB 291. It's a stylish looking unit in an aluminium finish, sits comfortably on any bedside cabinet. Sound is generally very good, at this price range. Would definitely recommend this product, you won't be disappointed.

Cannot turn the alarm off so have to turn the power off at night Cannot adjust brightness can only be on or off.Friends have also tried to adjust brightness without success. Design good, sound good,colour not good because it is hard to read what each button is for.

we found that when we listen to radio that time & date is lost? this happened three times now, we will return for another unit. Otherwise very good unit, easy to use, remote ok, would have been better with led lit controls

Seriously - the clock has settings which seem to go from 'invisible' to 'only visible if you are standing right next to it'. Why you would have a clock you can't read is beyond me (they do make others that can be read). Also the design is overly complex. Sound is good though.

We purchased this clock radio because it had DAB and a very clear sound but unfortunately after several months the radio reception began to fail. Our gripe with the device is that when listening to the radio or connecting an audio device the details of the song is displayed and there is no time display; which is hopeless when using it as a clock radio in the mornings. Also the time display is small and difficult to read at night.

A clock radio that will not tell you the time after the alarm had gone off!!! Need I say any more.

May be suitable for iPhone, but not robust enough for iPad. Lasted barely 1 hour, the docked iPad accidentally tilted forward and disconnected. Now only docks when iPad tilted unnaturally forward. Returning to supplier tomorrow.
