- Verify the cables and the connections. 2. Make your cables as short as possible. 3. Use good cables. A SCART cable should be fully or double screened. 4. Verify the TV?s connections. 5. Try a different connection to the TV. The COMPONENT VIDEO OUT connection might give a better picture quality than the SCART connection. Make sure you change the video output setting to ?S-video and YPbPr? in the picture settings menu. 6. Verify the video output setting in the picture settings menu (SCART VIDEO) is set to the correct value, in relation to the connection you selected. 7. If you use an external receiver verify the video output setting of the receiver is set to RGB. 8. If you use a Set Top Box (STB) to receive TV channels: Most STB?s send a CVBS-signal and not an RGB-signal through the second SCART connection (called TO VCR, or VCR/DVD, ?). If you have connected the DVD recorder to this connection you do not get the optimum picture quality. Connect the SCART cable from the TO TV SCART socket on the STB. Note: If bad picture quality only occurs with one or a few channels verify with the provider that there are no problems with the broadcasting of these channels.
