Philips Sonicare Elite+Sonic electric toothbrush

The sonic toothbrush cleans perfectly and removes a lot more plaque than a rotary toothbrush.

This is my first "sonic" toothbrush. I used a few decades ago an electric toothbrush - but that one was just a rotary head cleaning one. This one is really great - although the blurb doesn't give info about the frequency it vibrates at. Philips was recommended by my periodontist. I chose an entry level product as I don't need bells and whistles I won't use. After only a couple of uses I can feel a difference. My only issue is that the indicator LED is extremely dim. It can't be seen in daylight without cupping your hand around the area to reduce external light. Even then it's still hard to see. Could someone confirm if this is normal? If not, I will ask for a replacement. The battery took a full 24 hours to charge. Unusual for such a small battery, but the instructions said it would take that long. The heads are quite expensive to replace. This is disappointing.
