Blu-ray Disc/ DVD player

This product is awesome and has a great picture. I it has a great picture quality of the movies.it's not big and bulky like most of the other ones it's nice and slim and fits almost anywhere.

Have had this product for five months and am really impressed with the performance and functionality of this player! Very beautiful and crystal clear picture! Plays all formats of DVD, CD flawlessly. Upscaling of standard DVD format is great! No fuss setting it up. Updating firmware is very easy. Would definitely purchase another.

I've had utter disappointment with 2 blue ray players which apparently had over a 100 streaming apps but failed me when I tried to play my old DVD movies & VCD. Now what good is having all these streaming apps on a Blue Ray player when it fails to perform it's basic task - play and up-scale DVD's hassle free? I was looking for a Blue Ray player which didn't have WiFi or streaming media since I own a Philips TV already comes with built-in WiFi and streams movies flawlessly. In addition to that I also have Google Chromecast so it was pointless having another streaming BD player. The Philips BDP1200 was the best choice. It plays virtually all media files like Blue ray, CD, CDDA, DVD, SVCD and even my old VCD's flawlessly which sets Philips apart from any other brand out there! The player has been connected to HDMI ARC port via hi speed HDMI cable which support ARC(audio return channel) Blue ray disks play in stunning Full Hi def I have a huge collection of DVD's from the past 10 years, this player plays them all RELENTLESSLY regardless of how old or in what condition the disks are in. To top it off even the DVD's are up-scaled to HI-definition quality. I'm now one happy Videophile! Way to go Philips!!!

i've had this for a few years now. the thing i don't like is that it sometimes starts the disc over if i stop it and turn off. there are times i turn it on and it just stays on the phillips logo. i have to unplug it to fix it.

I am returning my purchased product as it has no direct volume control on the remote. This design aspect is very inconvenient requiring a number of steps each time you wish to vary the volume whilst watching a movie. A pity as I purchased this item based on the Phillips brand.

We got our new Blu Ray/DVD player home, started to hook it up only to find that the directions for hook up are strictly illustrated with no written descriptions. Best we can figure is that we need to go buy an HDMI cable to connect to our TV so that we can watch blu ray movies on it. I don't mind that we have to purchase additional cables but would like some ENGLISH descriptions of all additional equipment needed that is not included. We prefer written instructions and descriptions to hieroglyphics.

whenever i try to play a blu ray it keeps saying unknown disc ....can never get support for it will never buy Philips again ....lost a customer

I've had this Blu-Ray player for about 9 months. it had been working fine until all of a sudden the drawer would no longer open. I've tried turning it off and unplugging it but it still would not work. I would not purchase this again.

Have had it for about 6 months until one day the drawer stopped working it would nit will not open at all!!! Its very frustrating will not recommend!!
