LED-backlit LCD monitor

My new Phillips monitor a real winner. It's like viewing my travel pics for the first time . . . So clear and sharp and so easy to adjust.

I have found that it is first class no problems at all while installing, In our case we just plugged in the cables and it set itself up completely and at the correct settings.

The design is so poor that it took me sometime to find the on/off switch. And believe me, I've been using PCs for a long time. The lightly labeled controls are extremely jumpy too. I was on the verge of giving it up when my Internet search showed that you can download a program to control the settings on your PC. Things then started to brighten up considerably (literally).

Resetting my home office - a 24" LCD IPS monitor was at the top of the list - simply no room for anything larger. After shortlisting a number of items, the clincher on this one (on special at a local outlet) was the inclusion of speakers. Surprsingly good for what they are, but importantly saved desk space and ports by not having to use external speakers. The Good Stuff: The screen is quite good. Good viewing angles, and so far I can't really (with my eyes) detect any problems, dead pixels or hotspots. Nice auto-contrast which you can see kick in when watching a movie. Quite good speakers for what they are - not concert quality, but good enough. The Bad Stuff: those touch controls! If they were backlit, it wouldn't be as bad, but it's almost impossible to use them without a flashlight. Regular buttons would have been a thousand times better. The monitor controls are also many layers deep in menus. The Average: The construction and design seems very "yesteryear" - it was a big hurdle with so many attractive, thin panel, bezel-less designs, but this one has a thick border, and if you run you finger over the edge, can feel the bumps and sharp edges of cheap construction. No height adjustment. Overall: Average is probably a little harsh, but it isn't worth 4 stars - perhaps 3.5 overall, because the panel itself is quite good. The speakers make it far more attractive for space-saving in a small home office. It would have been an extra half-star if they'd have included an HDMI cable in the box - in Australia, we get a VGA Cable? Seriously, Philips - it's 2018. I haven't seen a VGA port since last decade. It wouldn't have taken that much out of the bottom line to ut an HDMI cable in the box - the accountants won this one, huh? So above average, but there are better monitors if you don't need speakers.

Needed a replacement for our Samsung Monitor which got dropped! The Philips looked good, but has slow load when first turned on and 'fuzzy' resolution compared to old monitor

The physical; controls are virtually impossible to use. Every touch sends the display leaping around like a bunny on a hot stove. The store refused to sell the add-on insurance to keep the guarantee more than one year saying their carrier had refused to sell the coverage because of too many claims. First Philips I ever had that was a bummer.

I’ve been using the product for about a year and had some hitches like random flashes on the screen and now exactly a year later the screen has started showing long green lines filling up the screen and randomly turns off this is terrible considering that I payed a fair bit for it
