Choosing a homecare provider

When you are first diagnosed with sleep apnea, a physician will usually provide you with a prescription for CPAP treatment. You then take this prescription to a homecare provider, who will help you start your treatment. The homecare provider is particularly important at the start of your treatment. Most providers will allow you to try the CPAP machine for a month, during which time they should help you adopt therapy into your daily life and ensure that the treatment is having the intended result.
Choosing a homecare provider
You want to feel comfortable with your homecare provider staff and have confidence that they will be a good partner in your treatment journey. Choosing a homecare provider with a strong record and one that will always be available to help with your care is important.
Ensure that the homecare provider staff are well-trained. A CPAP provider that understands the equipment and the clinical treatment considerations will make it much easier for you. Staff should give personal support to help ensure you are getting the intended therapy results.
We believe that treating sleep apnea is best done with teamwork. Your homecare provider should be an active member of your care team, along with you and your physician. They should share information with and make recommendations to this group so that everyone remains coordinated around your care.

The Sleepeasy difference

Clinically trained staff

Identifying well-trained consultants is important for your success with your short and long-term treatment. First, as you start your therapy, a consultant needs to ensure that you are set up with the right equipment to meet your unique needs while being as comfortable as possible. As you adapt to your treatment over the first few weeks, consultants give you personal support to help ensure that you're using your equipment correctly, it is performing well, and you understand your treatment. Finally, your therapy needs and preferences with treatment may change over the years as your body and lifestyle changes. Having consultants who understand your personal needs and the options available to you helps ensure that you will continually get high-quality treatment.

Coordinated care

Connecting you with our Sleepeasy experts and your clinician is an important step in ensuring you receive the best quality care long-term. Our solutions enable the sharing of information in secure and easy ways so that we can all work towards the same goal: your health and wellbeing. For example, through our DreamMapper app and web-based software, Sleep Apnea patients can see progress and help stay motivated. Additionally, data can be securely and easily made available to our Sleepeasy Consultants and your physician through our EncoreAnywhere solution so that we can collaborate with you to ensure you’re receiving the best care.

These types of solutions are an example of how our programs help you to more easily engage in your treatment in your home or on the go. By enabling a common understanding between you, your clinicians, and your Sleepeasy consultant, you can have the confidence and peace of mind that you’re getting the care you need and deserve. Sleepeasy is your partner in better breathing.

Industry leader: global capabilities meets local heritage

Sleepeasy is owned by Philips. This gives us access to the leading healthcare best practices from over 128 countries. Philips brings health innovations to improve the daily lives of millions across the globe, from large hospital equipment to daily, healthy living electronics. As a global market leader in Healthcare Technology and, specifically, in Sleep and Respiratory Care, our research and development teams at Philips are at the forefront of technology, consistently leveraging and creating new innovations that are centered around your needs.

In Australia, this pairs with our local heritage—we have been a local homecare provider since 2003—and were acquired by Philips because of our ability to help our customers live happier, healthier, and more active lives in the comfort of their homes. We have, and will always continue to be, focused on patient outcomes and happiness.

This combination of Philips’ global capabilities and insights, and our local Sleepeasy best practices in patient care, means we remain at the cutting edge of providing clinically effective and comfortable treatment. Our high standards are recognised by our industry: not only do we sit on the advisory boards for many of our global and local Sleep and Respiratory Care associations—like the Australian Sleep Health Foundation—we are one of the few companies which fully adhere to the Sleep Health Foundation Code of Practice for Suppliers of CPAP Sleep Therapies.
