  • Philips DreamStation cellular devices currently use a 3G cellular modem. This means that your therapy data won't be transmitted automatically through the 3G network to your sleep therapy provider. 
  • The Philips DreamStation 4G cellular modem release is delayed, to stay updated on  DreamStation 4G cellular modem availability and stockists? Register your interest here > 
  • We want to inform you, the modem does not affect the operation of your device, and you can continue using your therapy without the 3G modem.
  • Following the 3G network shutdown, you may experience error messages on your device. You can manage this by removing the modem as per the steps below.

  • Your DreamStation device, will continue to operate and store your therapy data without the 3G Modem. You can continue allowing your sleep therapy provider ongoing access to your data by leveraging the DreamStation’s Bluetooth© connectivity together with the DreamMapper app. You can find further instructions here >
  • All DreamStation devices come with an SD card. In addition to this, your device will store the last 6 months of your therapy data. Your sleep therapy provider can download therapy data from your device using this SD card.

What is 3G?

3G is the third generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology. Wireless technologies enable mobile devices to share data.

When is the 3G network closing down?

  • In Australia, the last 3G network is scheduled to shutdown from 28 October 2024.
  • In New Zealand, specific dates have not been communicated, but we understand it will be towards the end of 2025.

What will happen if my device has a 3G cellular modem?

If you have a DreamStation device with 3G cellular modem, your device will continue to store your therapy data. However, your device may no longer be able to make automatic calls to transmit your therapy data to your provider and DreamMapper. Your therapy data can continue to be uploaded via SD card or Bluetooth, which has been built into your device. More information can be found here DreamMapper | Philips.  When available, you also have the option to upgrade your 3G cellular modem to a 4G cellular modem.

I have an error message with a Failed status 1-X (possibly 1-0, 1-1, 1-2 or 1-3), how do I resolve this?

When 3G is turned off, the device will likely present with a Failed status of 1-X (possibly 1-0, 1-1, 1-2 or 1-3) 

  • Please remove the modem to resolve these error messages.
  • We recommend connecting your DreamStation via Bluetooth to the DreamMapper patient app.

How can I transfer therapy data to my provider without cellular modem?

With Philips DreamStation Bluetooth connectivity, you can continue to transfer therapy data using the Philips Dream Mapper patient app. More information can be found here DreamMapper | Philips.

What are the steps to remove the SD card?

Locate the SD card slot on your device. 

  • To remove the SD card, press on it and it will enable the SD card to release. 
  • Remove the card. 

          Note: Your device will continue to operate so you can continue with your therapy. 
          An alert may appear the next time you turn on your device. Click to clear the alert so you can continue with your therapy. 

How can I stay informed about the release of the 4G modem?

The new DreamStation 4G cellular modem is anticipated March 2025.
