Philips appoints Anelo Cournut as Managing Director for Philips Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, Australia – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today announced the appointment of Anelo Cournut as Managing Director, Philips Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), effective February 4, 2026. Based in Sydney, Anelo will lead the ANZ organization in advancing technology-enabled solutions that help alleviate health system pressures and enhance the delivery of care across Australia and New Zealand.
Commenting on her appointment, Anelo Cournut, Managing Director, Philips ANZ, said: "The healthcare system across Australia and New Zealand remains at a critical juncture, challenged by an aging population and a widening workforce gap. As capacity and staffing pressures continue to grow, it is essential that we partner closely with healthcare providers to address these complexities. Anelo brings more than 25 years of global healthcare leadership experience across clinical technologies, consulting and executive management. She has held senior roles including General Manager ANZ for Johnson & Johnson’s Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions, Managing Director ANZ for Cardinal Health, and Managing Director ANZ for Becton Dickinson (BD). She is recognized for driving growth, strengthening partnerships and championing innovation in patient care. Her experience was further shaped during a long tenure at Siemens Healthcare, where she held leadership and business management roles across multiple clinical areas in Germany, the United States, and Australia.
Anelo holds a Master of Science from HEC Paris, a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
