    How do I clean and disinfect my Philips Avent Nipple Protector?

    To ensure that your product is ready for use, to avoid contamination and to ensure hygiene, clean and disinfect the Nipple Protector(s) and the hygiene case.

    Instructions to clean the Philips Avent Nipple Protector

    Follow these steps to clean the Nipple Protector. Clean the Nipple Protector before first use and after each use.

    Manual cleaning
    1. Rinse with cold, drinking-quality water (approx. 20°C) for 10-15 seconds.
    2. Wash in warm, drinking-quality water (approx. 35°C) with washing-up liquid, preferably one without artificial fragrances or colouring.
    3. Rinse with cold, drinking-quality water (approx. 20°C) for 10-15 seconds.
    4. Dry with a clean cloth or leave to dry on a clean surface.

    Dishwasher cleaning
    1. Place on the top rack of the dishwasher.
    2. Run a standard program with common household dishwasher detergent.
    3. If not fully dry after the dishwasher program, dry with a clean cloth or leave to dry on a clean surface.

    Note: Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive chemicals or substances when you clean the Nipple Protector.

    Instructions to disinfect the Philips Avent Nipple Protector

    Follow these steps to disinfect the Nipple Protector. Disinfect the Nipple Protector by boiling it or in the microwave before first use and at least once a day. When disinfecting in the microwave, only use the hygiene case provided.

    Boiling
    1. Clean the Nipple Protector first by washing it manually or in the dishwasher.
    2. Boil the Nipple Protector in drinking-quality water for 5 minutes.
    3. Leave to dry on a clean surface.

    Disinfecting in the microwave
    1. Clean the Nipple Protector and the provided hygiene case by washing them manually or in the dishwasher.
    2. Add 25 ml/0.9 fl. oz. of drinking-quality water to the hygiene case (Fig. 1).
    3. Place the Nipple Protector(s) in the hygiene case and securely close the lid (Fig. 2).
    4. Place the filled hygiene case in the microwave for 3 minutes at 750–1000 W (Fig. 3).
    5. Let the hygiene case cool down for 5 minutes before you touch it (Fig. 4).
    6. Drain water from the hygiene case (Fig. 5).
    7. Dry the Nipple Protector(s) with a clean cloth or leave it to dry on a clean surface.

    Note: You can use the line indicated on the hygiene case to measure the correct amount of water. Orientation of the Nipple Protector(s) in the case is not important.
