Time is projected upside down on my Philips alarm clock

That is not a failure. We could adjust it by pressing REVERSE PROJECTION at the lateral side of the clock radio. We can also adjust the projected clock time at any angle as we want by touching and moving ROTATE PROJECTION knob.
