Why does the display indicate a weight when I switch the scales on?

This happens because the scales have a memory backup feature that remembers the last weight measured. The scales switched off automatically after three minutes while there were still ingredients on the weighing plate. Remove these ingredients and press the reset/tare button to reset the display to 0.
