How to remove and recycle the battery of my Philips Sonicare Toothbrush

Your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush contains a rechargeable battery which must be disposed of properly. Find out how to easily remove and recycle the battery of your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush.

Before removing

Only remove the battery when you discard your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush. Before removing:

  1. Make sure that the battery is completely empty. Turn on your toothbrush to fully drain the battery
  2. Protect your eyes, hands and the surface on which you work.

Instructions to remove and recycle the battery

You will need a towel and a flat-head screwdriver to remove the battery of your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush.

  1. Put the flat-head screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of your handle and turn anti-clockwise until you see a gap (Fig. 15)
  2. Place the screwdriver into the gap and pry the bottom cap out of the handle (Fig. 16)
  3. Hold the handle upside down on the towel and push down to release the inner parts of the handle (Fig. 17)
  4. Place the screwdriver between the circuit board and the battery connectors
  5. Twist to break the battery connectors
  6. Remove the circuit board and pry the battery from the plastic carrier (Fig. 18)

The rechargeable battery can now be recycled.
