How do I select the right size of Philips Avent Nipple Protector?

    Published on 2019-11-17
The Philips Avent Nipple Protector comes in two sizes so you can find the optimal fit for you. Ensure you select the correct fit by following the below instructions:

    Nipple Protector available sizes

The Nipple Protector is available in two different sizes. The standard size has a diameter of 21.6 mm and the small size has a diameter of 14.9 mm. The diameter is measured on the base of the protectors, see the picture below.
Note: The size depends on the size of the mammilla (nipple) and not the size of the areola. If the nipple has 2 mm of leeway, this is your correct fit.

Note: if in doubt, we recommend that you seek advice from a Health Care professional to find the best size for you.

How to check if you have the correct fit

    1. Apply the protector over your nipple
    2. If centred correctly, there should be 2 mm of space between the nipple and the side and top of the silicone nipple shape (see the image below)
Note: The correct fit depends on the size of the mammilla (nipple) and not the size of the areola.
