Why does my milk frother create less milk froth?

    Published on 2017-11-27

This may have several causes. Please check all possible causes and solutions with your appliance:

    1) The frothing coil is not attached.
Make sure that the frothing coil is attached to the frothing rod if you want to create milk froth. If the frothing coil is not attached, no milk froth can be created.

    2) You use too little milk.
Use more milk than the minimum specified. There is a MIN indication inside the milk jug. Make sure the milk in the jug is above this indication when you start frothing.

    3) The milk jug and frothing coil are not clean.
Make sure that you clean the inside of the milk jug, the lid and the frothing coil with hot water after use. If they are very dirty, you can use a soft cloth or soft brush and some washing-up liquid.

    4) You have used a type or brand of milk that does not give a good froth quality.
You can use any type of milk you like. However, different types and brands of milk result in different amounts of froth and different froth qualities.
Tip: For the best result, we advise you to use fresh semi-skimmed or full-fat cow's milk at refrigerator temperature, between 5-8ºC.

    5) The appliance is still too hot to froth milk. Wait and let the appliance cool down for a few minutes.
If you want to prepare hot frothed milk or hot milk again straight away, the milk jug needs to cool down for a few minutes before you can use it again. As long as the milk jug is still hot, the temperature limiter makes sure that the appliance cannot be operated. You can rinse the inside of the milk jug with cold water to let it cool down faster.
