Great Blender for PriceMy family are vegan (fruitarians mostly), we make a lot of fruit shakes including frozen banana.
This blender handles the job pretty well, at least better than all others we have had including a supposedly better (more expensive model) from another brand.
I wish they used a great quality plastic jug just to save weight and to save the worry of my kids (or I) breaking this one, but the design of it (and the blade) does a great job.
Love the ice function, hit it and walk away. Come back in 30 secs (or so) and have a great banana shake with very little air in it.

Blender leaks brown goopI puchased this blender a several months ago...when being used (that is, spinning. it leaks brown goo from the base of the glass container onto the port where the glass container sits...I have seen goo in the base of the rubber seal as well which means its leaking & being forced upwards into the container past the shaft.....i have stopped using it & will be reporting it to consumer & fair trading. What it is, is the shaft of the blade unit has worn after little use & the plastic seal is melting into the liquid that is being blended...yumm...not

Apprehensive about what to ExpectPurchased unit from Havey Norman and went home to have a fruit smoothie. Ice option worked fine followed by frozen 'Nannas' mixed berries, Mango plus a handful of home grown peach/nectarine pieces . Blender proceeded to do the job and made a super awesome smoothie. After 20min or so I returned to wash the blender using the Easy Clean option. !!!! Unit would not start!!!!! an audible click could be heard !!! Lights flashing!! The next morning it did the same 'CLICK" Lights Flashing ...CLICK....
Reurned item directly to point of purchase and was instantly provided with another new blender.
All good thus far: It made a smoothie and Easy Clean option worked surprisingly well .
