I bought this product today. It has a smell when being used that is overwhelming and sickening.
Being returned first thing tomorrow
Very disappointed that Phillips can sell this product with its smell.

Need to constantly monitor the cooking temperature as it automatically changes temperature after you set it. The cook should be watching the food not the appliance. Will be taking a quick trip to the rubbish dump.
Needs a manual cook select.
User manual is non-existent.
There are many cheaper brands on the market that do a better cooking job.

I find it too vague reqarding cooking and setting cooking methods. The Manual supplied is not worth the paper it is written on!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jason45 Non Existant Documentation
I bought this product one day ago, everything was ok until I looked for a basic menu broacher/leaflet to help me understand the cooking procedure. I am not referring to "How does induction work" most people would understand that. But when it comes to procedure to achieve results, WHERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS? The documentation should include a basic recipe for each of the functions. Looking for recipes and procedures is what brought me to this page. SO, Talk to the documentation producers, and get some top chefs recipes to be included in your product box, even as a CD or DVD would be appreciated. This would give us all a better understanding of how to use it and how to get good results in transferring our knowledge from Electric/Gas cooking to Induction Cooking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Clive Powerful but irritating
It heats up well and is powerful. Excellent footprint and easy to clean.
...the preset cooking options are obscure and there is no way to just run it manually to your own preference. Every 2 minutes it ramps up the power which means you have to constantly watch it. I've had to play with various menu "options" and it's really annoying.

My wife talked me out in buying this product but I always know Philips make very good products. after buying, my partner loves it due its efficiency and easy-to-use menu. "Don't judge a book by its colour" I said to my partner. I recommend this product to anyone.

This thing does what ever it wants set it to x and it over rides and burns your food.
no indication that you can only use a pan with max diameter of 23cm. Can only use thick base pans or they warp on fry setting I killed 2 pans in one night trying to cook a steak.Stupid thing only heats a 10cm circle inner circle. Im returning it its junk back to inefficient gas for me atleast you can control heat yourself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Claudy27 Product needs a re design
Bought this as a replacement to my Belling portable.
It is too complicated to use and will not hold at a simmer, even on 60 deg the cooktop is still boiling the food.
A very frustrating cooking experience. The D&T team need to simplify this unit as the technology when right, is just the best.
Very disappointed with this portable cooktop.
