This is a great appliance once you ubderstanf how to use it.
The only problem is the easy to read display is very hard to read. It is far from bright enough.
An updated display would make this unit perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Barnsie Induction cooker needs improvement
I have used this appliance for 6 months. As others have stated, the operation of the unit was frustrating and the manual was anything but intuitive. After dechiphering the user manual the initial frustration turned to disappointment. The appliance was unable to maintain a slow simmer. The on/off cycling on the 100-800w settings is annoying. Why is there such disparity in temps from 100w to 1200w? Why not add a 600w & 1000w setting which would provide more even temp control? Why not have a "MANUAL" setting to provide the user with total temp control?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tuppence Very disappointing.
The first one I bought wobbled owing to one non-slip foot being short. The replacement I was unable to make work, even after the retailer gave me a demonstration when it went perfectly for me in the shop but no luck at home. I have given it away. Had I realised how unnecessarily complicated the controls are I would not have bought it.

I bought this product today. It has a smell when being used that is overwhelming and sickening.
Being returned first thing tomorrow
Very disappointed that Phillips can sell this product with its smell.

Need to constantly monitor the cooking temperature as it automatically changes temperature after you set it. The cook should be watching the food not the appliance. Will be taking a quick trip to the rubbish dump.
Needs a manual cook select.
User manual is non-existent.
There are many cheaper brands on the market that do a better cooking job.

I find it too vague reqarding cooking and setting cooking methods. The Manual supplied is not worth the paper it is written on!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jason45 Non Existant Documentation
I bought this product one day ago, everything was ok until I looked for a basic menu broacher/leaflet to help me understand the cooking procedure. I am not referring to "How does induction work" most people would understand that. But when it comes to procedure to achieve results, WHERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS? The documentation should include a basic recipe for each of the functions. Looking for recipes and procedures is what brought me to this page. SO, Talk to the documentation producers, and get some top chefs recipes to be included in your product box, even as a CD or DVD would be appreciated. This would give us all a better understanding of how to use it and how to get good results in transferring our knowledge from Electric/Gas cooking to Induction Cooking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Clive Powerful but irritating
It heats up well and is powerful. Excellent footprint and easy to clean.
...the preset cooking options are obscure and there is no way to just run it manually to your own preference. Every 2 minutes it ramps up the power which means you have to constantly watch it. I've had to play with various menu "options" and it's really annoying.
