Rated 2 out of 5 by bilbo too fragile for a portable
been using for a few years, on switch fell off early and I repaired it by gluing a strip over the top to hold it in place, now charge plug not making contact so it is not working. only needs minor modification and would be a great product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Taffy Good features, good sound and easy to use. But poor quality
I enjoyed the use of this radio for just over a year. The sound was good and no crackle. But the last time I plugged the earphone jack in it fell into the body of the radio. On checking it was found that the 5 soldered joints had all come apart. Very disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AreaMan Good sound quality, poor build quality
The sound on this was great, performed well, good reception most of the time. However let down by build quality, all it needed was a blob of hotglue on the headphone jack and it would have been strong enough to last, however as it was the solder broke off within a year and was unrepairable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Muz21 good to use but broke easily
Mine went well while it lasted, I liked the recharging because previous DAB chewed the batteries. The quality of the hardware I found poor. First the switch broke so the unit wouldnt turn off so I had to leave it on charge whenever it wasnt being used. The socket for the recharging jack sunk later sunk into the unit and could no longer be reached to plug it in. This happened after about 12 months. My feedback is that I will pay higher price for a product that lasts but this one didn't unfortunately. HIgher bar for production, dont get drawn into the cheap throw away market please -brand name too good for that.

I have been running this product for about 18 months with my own choice of headphones.
Battery life is about 4-5 hours which is OK, but would be good if it lasted the whole work day.
Sound quality is below acceptable as there are many digitial-analogue conversion artefacts still audible in the sound giving it an "underrwater squishy" sound. Sounds a bit like low bit-rate mp3 music. Certainly well below CD quality.
Very portable and performs better than analogue tuners which is good for indoor or on-train use.

Well this was close to being a good product but big BUT charge input just broke while out and about one day....
And battery life 4-5 hours tops...so shame if you want for working
Not strong case
In all very poorly made ....but the idea is right
If battery charge input was not problem then I was think of buying 2 run one then when flat run the next

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gully Not worth buying
While this may give good reception the overall product is poor. Headphones not working after less than 12 months of use. Cover over battery recharge slot is bad. Presetting stations is difficult - instructions are ambiguous. Battery life is short after being recharged. Worst of all I can no longer recharge the battery, as the socket has broken away from the unit. Less than 12 months and it's off to buy another portable digital radio. It's won't be a Philips!

I bought the radio to take to the football to listen to the commentary while watching the game. Turns out the radio has a built in delay which makes the commentary several seconds behind the game. No mention of delay on packaging. Phillips subsequently advised there is no adjustment available.
Total waste of money. So much for the "digital" benefits!!!
Radio station (6PR) confirmed it does not broadcast on delay because so many people listen to commentary at game.
