I've used epilators for over ten years and this one doesn't work for me. It's okay on my shins (doesn't pick up all the hair) BUT my hair doesn't grow straight down in most areas of my body, the slight curve of the head doesn't match the contours of my body/hair growth. Much better if it was flat or less inverted

I used this device for about 4 weeks now and am pleased about the result. I have not used it wet yet but love the possibility to do so. Compared to my previous non Philips device, I noticed that my skin is not getting little red spots after epilating which is great as I had to do it the night before I need to be hairfree to not look hideous. only reason to only give 4 out of 5 stars is that not all hairs have been taken out even using it at 90degree angle as described.

Nice design but ineffective epilator
Bought the product from Myers as an epilator but very disappointed with performance.
Tried on wet legs first after a warm shower with the massage type fitting but it simply didn't remove hair. Removed fitting and tried again--same result.
Next, dried legs and tried again. Works better on dry legs but takes so long and requires very slow movements and repeated application over the same areas numerous times and still does not remove shorter hairs. Had to find tweezers to finish.
I am fair with limited hair on my legs so it should be quick, easy, and effective--well it is not. The positive is that it is painless but that boils down to the fact that hair removal is limited and the design is nice if that counts for anything.
Overall, a waste of money and because I have obviously used the product Myers says I cannot return it!

Smart, Sleek design
Lovely packaging, smart product, handy storage bag. I was keen to use this product as I haven't epilated before. The product is very easy to use and worked right out of the box. I did charge it fully before use though.
I tried it dry first and I must admit I found it pretty painful - I think this is more to do with epilating though than the Philips product. I have very coarse fair hair on my lower legs and this was harder to remove and didn't leave it super smooth after. It may be my hair type tho as other reviews are very positive for this.
I then also tried it in the bath but wasn't sure if the whole product could get wet or just the attachment so I was very careful not to get much of it wet.
I found it most effective on my underarms and would recommend it for this, but for me it wasn't able to catch every hair on my legs

Best Epilator I’ve ever used!
I’ve been using Philips epilators for years, and this is by far the best epilator I’ve used. It comes with an array of attachments which are very easy to change. The ceramic discs catch every hair, meaning you don’t have to go over areas several times to get results. The light is great for making sure I haven’t missed any hairs, I found this function works the best on my underarms. I really like the design of this epilator, it’s a lot sleeker than my last epilator and I love the hints of rose gold. Overall I am very pleased with this epilator and I would recommend it for a friend. The only downside I have found is the sides of the epilator head come quite high, which doesn’t pose an issue for my legs, but when I use it on my underarms I have to press down on it to catch all the hairs.

Good and bad
I was very excited to get started with this product, upon arrival the product was packaged well. The epilator comes with several attachments and a really lovely little bag to put everything in.
Once charged, the epilator lasts for a long time and I managed to get several uses from one charge. The product is quiet compared to others I have experienced, which is really good.
Unfortunately I was disappointed with the epilators ability to actually remove hair, noticing that it did not really remove a lot of it even after going over the same area several times. I expect this is a contributing factor to it feeling less painful than other epilators!
I noticed that it seemed to pull the lighter/softer hairs better than the darker and more coarse hairs, which it struggled with; so I feel the 'teeth' did not have a strong enough grip, and I wonder if this is because they are made from a plastic instead of metal (which makes sense otherwise it would rust from use in the water).
You are able to use this epilator on your face, which is something I have never done before but did try out as it came with relevant attachments - this was quite painful (probably as I am not used to it) - but the attachments worked well. The massager and brush attachments are also a lovely addition.
I feel that the instructions for usage could be better: It wasn't clear if the epilator unit can be immersed in water or whether it could only have limited contact. I did use this product dry initially (as that's what I am used to), but later used it in the bath - I only allowed the attachment piece to touch the water. I also noticed only two of the attachments state "wet & dry" on them (the one with the 'teeth' to pull hairs and the 'shaver' one), so I am assuming the other one (that the brush and massage features attach to) couldn't be used, which is a shame because I feel the brush head feature would be good to use in the water with some shower gel.
In regards to the instructions, I would also make this into a little booklet instead of a sheet that opens out. I just find it to be clearer that way and less irritating to follow.
Overall, I am a little disappointed in the product, because it has not been the best at performing it's actual purpose. But there is a lot I like about it too: the attachments, the design - both sleekness and use of soft colour, the texture/feel, that there is no need for a cord and the quietness.
To improve this product I would make the instructions clearer (can it be submerged in water?), make the 'teeth' grip better, and make it available to use with and without the cord - I am a bit sceptical at how long the product will keep up with being charged for as over time some products can lose their ability to hold charge.
I will continue to use this product for now. I am not sure I would recommend it specifically to anyone, however if asked I would definitely bring it up as an option and tell people exactly what I have written here; so they may still decide to purchase it. Im free of hairy bits :)
The Philips Satinelle Prestige Wet and Dry epilator has freed me from being hairy, its is easy to use, however you have to practice how to hold the epilator at a 90 degree angle to again full benefit of usage.
I found it easiest to use on my legs, arms and underarms. At first found it difficult to use on my face re upper lip but soon got the hang of it, there are various gadgets that help especially with sensitive areas.
I also found using the epilator on wet skin helped as it made it easier to extract the hairs.
Its been a God sent especially as I am very prone to ingrown hairs and spots. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've always shied away from pain as my pain threshold is very low and I've heard horror stories from friends in the past about epilators and how painful they are. So for hair removal I just stuck to using a razor but painless razor shaving has its price to pay. Short lasting results and unsightly red ingrown hairs.
I needed a change.
I decided to take the plunge and try this epilator.
I was impressed with how the epilator looked, the gorgeous on-trend rose gold colour and it fit nicely in my hand whilst I was using it.
I also found the 'optilight' very handy and made it easy to find hairs I might've missed.
I have to admit, the first time I used it it hurt a little but not anywhere near what I expected it to. I also found that using the faster setting made it less painful than the slower setting.
I expect that the more I use the epilator the lesser the pain will be as when I used it for a second time (1.5 weeks later) I found it less painful.
The product came with 8 different attachments and so far I have used the skin stretcher one for using under my arms and the massage attachment which was lovely after I had finished epilating.
I didn't have to go over my skin many times either so this meant the time it took overall was quite quick and the results were great.
Silky smooth legs/underarms that, for me, lasted a week and a half! Much better than just 24hours with shaving.
I'm sold! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
