How do I use my Philips Avent Thermopads?

    Published on 08 February 2023
You can use the Thermopads cold or warm.
    • Use the Thermopads cold to soothe sore or engorged breasts.
    • Use the Thermopads warm to stimulate milk flow before breastfeeding.

    Use cold.

    1. Take the Thermopad out of the sleeve.
    2. Put the Thermopad in the fridge or freezer for 24 hours.
    3. Dry with a cloth or towel.
    4. Insert the Thermopad into the sleeve and place it on your breast.

    Use warm.

Do not heat the Thermopad in the microwave. The Thermopad contains a gel that can start boiling. This will damage the thermal pad.
    1. Take the Thermopad out of the sleeve.
    2. Immerse the Thermopad in a bowl of hot water (maximum 50°C/122°F) for 10 minutes. Do not boil the water.
    3. Lightly dampen the Thermopad sleeve. Moist heat gives an extra comfortable feeling and helps stimulation.
    4. Insert the Thermopad into the sleeve and place it on your breast.
