Philips launches the Fidelio Soundbar - its first wireless detachable speakers with real surround sound

July 10, 2013

Sydney, Australia – Building on its strong reputation in home audio products, Philips has launched the Fidelio Soundbar range, its first wireless detachable speakers with real surround sound. With detachable wireless surround speakers and a wireless subwoofer, this is true surround sound on demand.

The Philips Fidelio Soundbar home theatre (HTL9100) can be used in a standard configuration to enjoy high quality audio from TV shows and movies, or the detachable wireless speakers can be moved anywhere in the room. An in-built orientation sensor instantly optimises audio quality once it detects whether the Soundbar is placed horizontally or vertically, such as mounted on a wall or sitting on a shelf. Using Smart Surround and Equalization technology, the home theatre system analyses and dynamically controls the sonic signals to provide a well-balanced surround experience.

The Fidelio Soundbar also features Bluetooth for streaming tunes stored on mobiles or tablets, and two HDMI inputs enable 3D playback and crystal-clear 5.1 or 7.1 audio, giving users complete control over how they enjoy their home entertainment system.

Philips Virtual Surround Sound produces rich and immersive surround sound from a less than five speaker system, transforming any high quality stereo source into true-to-life, multi-channel surround sound, with no need to purchase additional speakers, wires or stands to achieve room-filling sound. Also with Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II surround sound, the Fidelio Soundbar home theatre offers richer sound for watching and listening to TV and movies.

In addition to the high-end Fidelio Soundbar, the range includes an integrated Fidelio Soundbar model (HTL3120), which has a more compact design thanks to a built-in active subwoofer. This model also features a smart auto-orientation sensor that detects whether the Soundbar is placed horizontally or vertically and optimises the audio quality for a superb audio experience that isn’t compromised by the convenient design.

The HTL3120 also incorporates Bass Reflex speakers and a dual three-inch driver to deliver a powerful, deeper bass, and Dolby Digital, DTS, Virtual Surround Sound and 120W RMS power for realistic surround sound for movies and music.

The Philips Fidelio Soundbar range will be available from July 2013, joining the full range of Philips audio products.
