The new Philips Saeco Intelia Class effortlessly brews the "Espresso Perfetto" at home

December 19, 2011

Sydney, Australia – At the effortless push of a button, the new Philips Saeco Intelia Class delivers a perfectly extracted espresso in the comfort of your own home. It has never been so simple to enjoy Italian-style espresso, ristretto or cappuccino, all with their full aroma and made from freshly ground beans, right in your kitchen.

The Saeco Intelia Class is the first fully automatic espresso machine for home use to be honoured with an in-cup quality label, certified by Centro Studi Assaggiatori Italian Tasters, the most advanced Italian consultancy company in sensory analysis. This label has been achieved thanks to Philips Saeco’s adoption of a careful and dedicated internal process focused on respecting sensory parameters designed to achieve ‘Espresso Perfetto’ – the perfect espresso.

Philips Saeco understands that one’s enjoyment of espresso involves several senses: from sight, used to judge the quality of the crema layer, to smell, used to perceive the drink's aroma; and lastly to taste. The velvety effect of an expertly made coffee on one's palate should leave the most memorable of impressions – and the new Philips Saeco Intelia Class does exactly that.

“Saeco, since its creation in 1981, has worked ceaselessly to ensure maximum in-cup quality. Philips Saeco is the first company in the domestic espresso market to have this certified internal process to ensure the highest quality in taste and aroma,” said Malcolm Russell, Product Marketing Manager, Philips Saeco Australia.

“Italy is the birthplace of espresso and, to this day, the street cafés of Rome, Milan and Naples are still known as some of the best places in the world to enjoy a fine espresso. The Intelia Class achieves this ‘Espresso Perfetto’ or Perfect Espresso label by respecting the espresso sensory parameters and being certified by Centro Studi Assaggiatori Italian Tasters, the most advanced Italian consultancy company in sensory analysis,” said Malcolm Russell.

Perfect espresso has never been so simple
All aspects of the Philips Saeco Intelia Class are user-friendly, thanks to the self-explanatory and colour-coded icons on its wide and bright display. Also, customising your espresso could not be simpler, with the machine allowing you to easily adjust coffee strength, temperature and length.

The expert touch: for a perfect espresso every time

The patented Saeco Adapting System automatically detects the type of coffee beans and grinds the perfect amount of coffee, in order to provide the same perfect release of aromas every time.

The Ceramic Grinder offers low temperature grinding without the risk of overheating the beans, thus assuring consistency in the grinding process. This results in a better taste and the machine's long-lasting performance.

Cappuccinatore for a creamy cappuccino

A proper Italian breakfast wouldn't be complete without a well-prepared, creamy cappuccino, and that's no problem with the Philips Saeco Intelia Class, the only machine in its price range to be equipped with an automatic and dishwasher safe cappuccinatore, which creates the perfect milk foam. All you need to do is add the desired strength of espresso and you have a superb, authentic Italian cappuccino.
